Ineos Grenadiers have signed 2022 world time trial champion Tobias Foss on a three-year contract from Jumbo-Visma. The Norwegian says he has joined the team he loved as a child, having been inspired by the success of Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome in its former life as Team Sky. Foss has posted a picture of himself as a 15-year-old, riding in a replica kit.

‘Take a look at this!’ – Foss stuns field to claim shock men's time trial title

Tobias Foss says he “can’t believe this is happening” after joining Ineos Grenadiers on a three-year contract, having admitted to being “the biggest fanboy ever” of the team.
The 2022 world time trial champion has moved from Jumbo Visma - soon to be known as Visma-Lease a Bike - on a deal which lasts until the end of 2026.
Foss has competed at the highest level for the last four years and joins a team he looked up to as a child.
The 25-year-old Norwegian has posted a picture of himself as a teenager riding in Team Sky kit - the previous name of the same outfit.
“I really think there are some proper role models within this team,” said Foss, who was referencing Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal - but also spoke about being inspired by former team members Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome.
“I am extremely excited to race with these guys and grow in my own experience. The future of the Ineos Grenadiers is very exciting; we have good mentors that we can learn from, so that we, the young riders, can maintain the culture and make this team greater every year.
“I still can’t believe that this is happening, it’s funny as I was the biggest ‘fanboy’ ever of this team and now I am actually in the team!”
Foss hopes the move can help him earn a place on Norway’s team for the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he is targeting a place on the podium.
“I know some of the guys on the team a bit from before, and my impression is that it is a great group of people within the team,” he said.
“So I am looking forward to meeting everyone and creating good memories on the bike together. I would like to have a season where I can be consistent with the best.
“I don’t have any specific goals, but I want to take my chance, contribute to the team getting good results and go for a medal at the Olympics.”
