Strade Bianche Women’s Race LIVE - SD Worx - Protime’s Demi Vollering and Lotte Kopecky among contenders for record-equalling victory

Here's what the 2024 champion had to say after her victory:

Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx–Protime) dropped a devastating attack on the final climb to claim a second victory at Strade Bianche ahead of Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl–Trek).

A well-ridden tactical race from Kopecky saw her bide her time perfectly to attack in the final 500 metres to take the victory by four seconds in Siena. In doing so, she equalled the record held for wins at the Strade Bianche women's race as she joined Annemiek van Vleuten on two Tuscan victories.

The podium was completed by Longo Borghini and Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime), both former winners of Strade Bianche themselves.

Vollering takes third ahead of Niewiadoma! They earn another two places on the podium this year with the same riders, and have a much happier embrace after the finish this time around.

That's three former winners in the top three!

That final attack does the job and she gets her second Strade Bianche win! She was second last year, but she steps up to first again this year, well clear, and in rainbow stripes!

What a ride from the World Champion, she really can do it all can't she?! She's now equalled Van Vleuten's record of two wins at Strade Bianche!

Such a powerful finish from the World Champion, who played her tactics perfectly to secure the win. She's finished first, second, and first in the last three editions of Strade Bianche, impressive stuff.

SD Worx - Protime are back to winning ways!

She goes clear and out of the saddle!

Kopecky is on the wheel as she lets Longo Borghini lead.

The Italian Champion leads at the flamme rouge! Faulkner leading the chasers.

Not long now until the iconic final climb in Siena...

A 20-second lead for Kopecky and Longo Borghini now, a win for either would equal Annemiek van Vleuten's record of two wins at Strade Bianche....

Gap up to 23 seconds now. Faulkner and Niewiadoma lead the chasers.

They have an 18-second lead as they enter the final five kilometres!

Vollering attacks and stays on her wheel, Niewiadoma manages to catch up with the two of them. Front two ahead by 15 seconds now.

Van Anrooij and Faulkner make contact with Vollering and Niewiadoma, Kopecky and Longo Borghini now have 20-second lead.

Kopecky and Longo Borghini remain ahead with a 14 second lead now. Van Anrooij has nearly reached the two chasers.

The World Champion and Italian Champion go up the road! A tough task ahead for Niewiadoma as Vollering lets her teammate go ahead.
