Thanks very much for joining us. See you tomorrow.
16:30
Tomorrow it's the first stage proper, a 198-kilometre ride from Liege to Seraing.
16:28
So here's the top 10 of the prologue and of the general classification: 1. Fabian Cancellara (SUI) RadioShack 07:13; 2. Bradley Wiggins (GBR) Sky 0:00:07; 3. Sylvain Chavanel (FRA) Omega Pharma-Quickstep ; 4. Tejay van Garderen (USA) BMC 0:00:10; 5. Edvald Boasson Hagen (NOR) Sky 0:00:11; 6. Brett Lancaster (AUS) Orica GreenEdge; 7. Patrick Gretsch (DEU) Argos - Shimano 0:00:12; 8. Denis Menchov (RUS) Katusha 0:00:13; 9. Philippe Gilbert (BEL) BMC; 10 Andriy Grivko (UKR) Astana 0:00:15.
16:26
So Cancellara wins his fourth Tour de France prologue, winning his 22nd yellow jersey in the process. That's equal to Laurent Fignon, Greg Lemond and Joop Zoetemelk and the most of all active riders.
16:24
Evans comes in 16 seconds behind Cancellara and nine behind Wiggins.
16:23
Cancellara was a second quicker than anyone else at the intermediate split, and he absolutely destroys Wiggins's time. The Swiss crosses the line in 7:13.46 to go seven seconds clear at the top with just Evans to come.
16:18
Hejsedal goes over in a time of 7:31, putting him 12th. Solid start from the Giro winner.
16:17
Evans is the only Tour winner to start this year. In 2006 there were no former winners at the start.
16:16
Cancellara is away, as is Cadel Evans. That's all 198 riders out of the traps now. Can anyone usurp Wiggins in the next seven minutes or so?
16:14
WIGGINS GOES TOP!! The Team Sky rider shaves 0.42 seconds off Chavanel's time as he posts 7:20.51!
16:12
Giro D'Italia 2012 winner Ryder Hesjedal is on the road now. What can he produce in the grandest tour of them all?
16:11
Great ride from Denis Menchov to go into the top 10 with just a few riders to go. The Russian goes sixth with a time of 7:26.
16:07
1.Sylvain Chavanel (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) 7:20; 2.Tejay Van Garderen (BMC) +0:03; 3.Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky) +0:04; 4.Brett Lancaster (Orica-GreenEdge) +0:04; 5.Patrick Gretsch (Argos-Shimano) +0:05; 6.Philippe Gilbert (BMC) +0:06; 7.Andriy Grivko (Astana) +0:08; 8.Christopher Froome (Sky) +0:09; 9.Peter Velits (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) +0:10; 10.David Millar (Garmin-Sharp) +0:11.
16:06
As bookies' favourite Brad Wiggins gets underway with real intent, let's remind ourselves how the top 10 looks right now...
16:04
Martin has a flat tyre! A nightmare for the German! The world time trial champion is off and running on a new bike within 10 seconds or so, but his hopes of a competitive time in this time trial have gone up in smoke.
16:02
Awful start for Frank Schleck, who come sin 114th with a time of 7:51. Right after him, Van Garderen goes second with a of 7:23!
15:58
World time trial champion Tony Martin is the next one to go. He has won 22 UCI wins in time trials in his career (excl U23). Martin won last year’s only ITT in the Tour. After winning 9 of his 13 ITT’s last year. This year he has won 2 of 8 ITT’s, one in the Tour of Belgium and Germany’s national championship.
15:54
Frank Schleck is off the ramp and on the streets of Liege!
15:52
Since finishing his run which currently has him sat seventh, David Millar has tweeted: "More physical than technical course. Will be a good indicator of the GC riders form. Satisfied with how I went, no X in my factor though."
15:50
The current top 10 is: 1.Sylvain Chavanel (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) 7:20; 2.Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky) +0:04; 3.Brett Lancaster (Orica-GreenEdge) +0:04; 4.Philippe Gilbert (BMC) +0:06; 5.Andriy Grivko (Astana) +0:08; 6.Peter Velits (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) +0:10; 7.David Millar (Garmin-Sharp) +0:11; 8.Stephen Cummings (BMC) +0:11; 9.Jens Voigt (RadioShack-Nissan) +0:12; 10.Andreas Klöden (RadioShack-Nissan) +0:12.
