Hello and welcome to live coverage of stage seven of the Tour de France - a 162.5km ride into the apron of the Pyrenees from L'Isle Jourdain to Lac de Payolle, which included a potentially decisive ascent - and descent - of the Col d'Aspin in the finale.

Adam Yates crossed the line well down on the GC favourites with his chin bloodied - the British youngster must have taken a spill on the descent.

The GC favourites have regrouped after that incident and are riding as one towards the line. Surely their times will be taken at the flamme rouge - it's going to be so hard to sort that out because riders like Pinot were well off the pace. Froome and Valverde are deep in conversation in what appears to be an enforced go-slow to the line...

INCREDIBLE SCENES: The flamme rouge has been punctured and it collapses onto the road, blocking the path for all the big GC favourites. It looks like one rider was even knocked off... And this will be an ordeal for the organisers to sort out - time wise.

Superb effort for Greg Van Avermaet, who takes fifth place on the stage and will extend his lead at the top of the standings tonight.
