SEPP KUSS ON THE ENTANGLEMENT WITH A SPECTATOR

"There was a narrowing in the town and a spectator was out in the road and just clipped my handlebars. Luckily I'm okay, I think. Hopefully the other guys in the crash are alright. Not ideal."

"The guys rode great today. We still had numbers even on the final climb when UAE started pushing the pace. That's really encouraging. We just rode our own race, were happy to let the breakaway go for the stage and are happy with where we are at the rest day."

NEW GENERAL CLASSIFICATION
1. Jonas Vingegaard 62'34'17"
2. Tadej Pogacar +10"
3. Carlos Rodriguez +5'21"
4. Adam Yates +5'40"
5. Jai Hindley +6'38"
It's increasingly looking like Adam Yates is the domestique deluxe in this year's Tour and just 19 seconds from the podium himself.

GIULIO CICCONE IS THE NEW MAILLOT A POIDS
Despite finishing 15th on the stage, and not being able to take any more mountains points after the Croix Fry, and so remaining level on points with Neilson Powless. However by virtue of superior stage results, he will wear the spotty skinsuit in the time trial on Tuesday.

POGACAR ATTACKS OVER THE TOP OF VINGEGAARD

No, he wasn't in trouble, but Vingegaard is right on his wheel, and equal to the move. There's no separating these two. The Slovenian tries one more ahead of the line, but Vingegaard will not be shaken off and they cross the line together.

FLAMME ROUGE FOR THESE THREE
And Vingegaard is watching over his shoulder at Pogacar once again.

2KM TO GO: RODRIGUEZ BACK IN TOUCH, POGACAR SLIPS TO THE BACK
The top three on GC all together now, as Van Aert crosses the line for second.

WOUT POELS WINS STAGE 15!
But we can't take our eyes off the yellow jersey group for a moment, as Pogacar drops off the wheel of Adam Yates. Is Pogacar struggling???

2.5KM TO GO: KUSS AND RODRIGUEZ DROPPED
A reminder that 2.5km is where Poels is, with the yellow jersey group a further two kilometres back down the road.

3KM TO GO: YELLOW JERSEY GROUP DOWN TO SIX RIDERS

Pogacar has two team-mates, Vingegaard just Sepp Kuss, who appears to be struggling.

4KM TO GO: HINDLEY, BILBAO AND SIMON YATES DROPPED FROM THE PELOTON
David Gaudu has found his legs, after struggling on a much earlier climb. Majka makes it hard for Jumbo Visma, with Adam Yates in his wheel and Pogacar in his.

5KM TO GO: PIDCOCK CHASES BACK
Poels pushes on through a wall of fans behaving largely respectfully. The Dutchman has almost a minute in hand over the Belgian. It's going to happen, I think.

7KM TO GO: POELS IS GOING FOR IT
At the ripe old age of 35, with a lead of 30 seconds over Wout van Aert, he can practically smell his first Grand Tour stage victory. Surely this finish favours Poels over Van Aert? Back in the bunch Tom Pidcock is struggling to hang on.

8.5KM TO GO: POELS TAKES THE KOM

Van Aert picked up three points, Soler two, Ciccone none there. And that's just the short bit. There's a lot to keep your eyes on in this stage, as a much reduced peloton, led by swarming Jumbo Visma bees and plenty of UAE Emirates riders in black and white arrive at the Cote des Amerands.

10KM TO GO: SOLER PASSES VAN AERT
Also predictable. Meanwhile as the chasers reach the climb themselves, Warren Barguil (Arkea-Samsic) stands up on his pedals and pushes past Giulio Ciccone.

11KM TO GO: LEADERS REACH THE COTE DES AMERANDS
Poels put the pressure on the descent and Marc Soler lost the wheel. He has some work to do on the early part of this climb, which hits 17% for long stretches, but he's the lightest of them. Almost straight away Poels accelerates over the top of Van Aert, who doesn't bother to respond, opting instead to ride his own tempo.

20KM TO GO: ONTO THE DESCENT
And the three up the road are going to take at least a minute's advantage onto the final climbs. Hard to say which of them is the favourite for the stage at this point. The first part of the climb gets seriously steep in places, which should favour the lightweight Soler, but Poels has plenty of experience, and Van Aert is something of an unstoppable force.

25KM TO GO: NEILANDS WITH CHASE GROUP 1
And his best Tour result is still a possibility. Two big climbs to come, though.

30KM TO GO: THREE RIDERS NOW IN FRONT
Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates)
Wout van Aert (Jumbo Visma)
Wout Poels (Bahrain Victorious)

This strong trio has a lead of about 45 seconds on everyone else, with the road rising gently again for the next eight kilometres or thereabouts, before they go down again.

36KM TO GO: NEILANDS CLIPPED BY MOTORBIKE

It's not as bad as it might have been, and appeared to have been when we only saw the aftermath, when it seemed he had overcooked the corner. In fact the Latvian was trying to take a bottle from the four-wheeled neutral service motorbike, when he got caught by one of said wheels and crumpled into a concrete wall. Probably not the best moment to try to do that, as I'm sure he'll agree.

He's sitting up, fortunately, but that was pretty shocking and such a shame. Especially as he was very much racing for the win and at least on for his best ever Tour de France result.
