BRILLIANT POGACAR KEEPS THE TOUR ALIVE WITH COMEBACK WIN
What a difference 24 hours makes, eh? On Wednesday evening many believed that Jonas Vingegaard already had one foot on the Paris podium after the Dane dropped his big rival on the Col de Marie Blanque and then crossed the line over a minute clear of the two-time winner.
What a difference 24 seconds makes, eh? On Thurday, Vingegaard's Jumbo-Visma team put in another commanding performance as they looked to put the yellow jersey battle to bed on the second day of the Pyrenees. Sepp Kuss and Wout van Aert put their man in the perfect position - but when push came to shove on the climb to Cauterets, it was Tadej Pogacar and not Vingegaard who pulled the trigger.
Take a bow, Tadej!

CAN MARK CAVENDISH SPRINT TO WIN NUMBER 35 IN BORDEAUX?
Bonjour le Tour! 13 years after he was the last rider to win a Tour de France stage in Bordeaux, the 110th edition of the race returns to the capital of southwest France with Mark Cavendish still part of the furniture. More than that, the 38-year-old veteran is on the cusp of history - and Bordeaux could provide the perfect stage for him to make history.
Win today and the Manx Missile will go clear of Eddy Merckx and become the outright leading stage winner in Tour history. After sixth and firth place finishes in the two previous bunch sprints this week, Cavendish has been in the mix. But now needs that little bit extra if he wants to fulfil his destiny...
