Hola and welcome to live coverage of stage 10 of the Vuelta a Espana, a 188.7km schlep from Lugones to Lagos de Covadonga which should blow apart the GC and give us a real idea of who's going to take the red jersey to Madrid in just under a fortnight.

Confirmation that Quintana now holds a 57-second lead over Valverde on GC, with Froome a further second back - and Contador now almost three minutes in arrears. What a stage going into Tuesday's rest day.

Here's the moment Quintana made his move and dropped Contador to set up his win.

Alberto Contador comes home 1:03 down on Quintana having been passed by Esteban Chaves before the finish...

Robert Gesink takes second place 25 seconds down with Chris Froome just behind, followed by Omar Fraile and Michele Scarponi.

Nairo Quintana (Movistar) wins stage 10 of the Vuelta at Lagos de Covadonga to move back into the red jersey.

Quintana completes the downhill section and is now on the final rise to the line - superb victory for the Colombian today.

Under the flamme rouge for Quintana, who will move back into the red jersey today. He has about 30 seconds now on the chasing trio of Froome, Fraile and Gesink.

Quintana is on the flat section before the final descent and uphill ramp. Froome has caught Gesink and dropped Valverde and Scarponi...

Quintana has a rip in his jersey so he must have come off in one of those early crashes today... and Contador has been dropped by Froome and Valverde! They are catching Fraile now, with Scarponi as a passenger...

Meanwhile, Fraile has ridden clear of Contador, who has been caught by Scarponi, Froome and Valverde. What a stage finale this has been...

Poor Robert Gesink - he's been caught and passed by Quintana.

Froome and Valverde are now just 20-odd seconds behind Contador and Fraile, with Scarponi in between. It's all very poised and very close. All the big guns are within 38 seconds of the lone leader, Gesink.

Quintana is chasing down Gesink on the short descent towards one of the lakes. The Dutchman has 25 seconds. Contador has Fraile with him in pursuit of Quintana.

Scarponi, Fraile and Silin are still holding on to Quintana and Contador. Silin is first to crack. Now Quintana pushes on - and opens up a gap...

Froome has dropped Chaves now and is drawing level with Valverde, in the white combined jersey.

Yates has been dropped as Froome and Chaves ride on in pursuit of the leaders. Valverde is somewhere in between. It's started to rain as well.

Silin and Rolland have been caught by Quintana, Contador and Fraile - and Scarponi is there too. Gesink has just 35 seconds to play with now so it's touch and go for the rangy Dutchman.

Froome has now caught Chaves and Yates of Orica-BikeExchange. He's slowly battling back to Contador and Quintana, who still have Fraile on their back wheels.

Quintana and Contador are in discussion - it looks like the Colombian is asking the Spaniard if he can keep it up, and Contador shakes his head. Momentarily, they are in alliance.

Gesink soloes ahead with Rolland and Silin struggling behind. The Quintana-Contador group is 50 seconds back, with De La Cruz 1:45 down and Froome somewhere in between. Contador and Quintana have caught Dombrowski. They have Fraile holding on. And here comes Froome! The Briton has left Kennaugh behind and is mounting his comeback...
