So, a good day for Chris Froome. Jetse Bol may have risen up the overall standings, but it wasn't enough to take the red jersey, and in the end the Sky man extends his lead over most of his rivals.

So, the day belongs to that man, Alexey Lutsenko of Astana.

Contador dances on the pedals to bring this group home ahead of Froome, Woods and Chaves. Van Garderen is a couple of seconds back, and then the other favourites arrive piecemeal.

The Froome group is only about 15-strong. And it's down to just five when the red jersey digs in. One of the Yates brothers - no, Chaves - Contador, Van Garderen and Woods are with him.
