Confirmation that Chris Froome now leads Tejay Van Garderen by 10 seconds on GC with Esteban Chaves up to third place at 11 seconds, Nicolas Roche in fourth at 13 seconds and David de la Cruz in fifth at 23 seconds.

So, a good day for Chris Froome. Jetse Bol may have risen up the overall standings, but it wasn't enough to take the red jersey, and in the end the Sky man extends his lead over most of his rivals.

So, the day belongs to that man, Alexey Lutsenko of Astana.

Contador dances on the pedals to bring this group home ahead of Froome, Woods and Chaves. Van Garderen is a couple of seconds back, and then the other favourites arrive piecemeal.

The Froome group is only about 15-strong. And it's down to just five when the red jersey digs in. One of the Yates brothers - no, Chaves - Contador, Van Garderen and Woods are with him.

Back with the pack and it's Gianni Moscon of Team Sky who is burying himself for Chris Froome as they pass under the flamme rouge. So many riders have been blown off the back of the pack... the casualties will be huge.

Over the top of the climb for Lutsenko, who looks to be in considerable pain, but he'll soon be all smiles...

Meanwhile, Froome is now back on the front of the pack after that earlier wobble. He must have had a mechanical or even a fall, because he disappeared at a key moment ahead of the climb.

Under the flamme rouge for Lutsenko, and he still has 30-odd seconds on Judus.

Back in the peloton ans something has happened to Froome, who is way back and with some Sky team-mates. BMC have attacked accordingly.

Lutsenko looks very strong and should hold on for the win. Kudus, meanwhile, has caught and passed Haller.

Now Kudus attacks! The Eritrean zips clear of Gougeard.

The leaders are now on the final climb, the Cat.3 ascent to the Ermita Santa Lucia, which was officially 3.4km at 4.2%, but that figure has been updated now to 10%.
