Yes, Bennett was 4'02" down and so will drop down the standings, while Herrada was 4'18" down.

So, some results here for the GC guys... Quintana was 21st place at 2'32", Yates at 2'38", Valverde and Pinot at 2'49", Lopez at 2'52", Kelderman at 2'57" along with De la Cruz, Kruijswijk and Uran, Gallopin at 3'12", Izagirre at 3'14" and Buchmann at 3'19". So it looks like George Bennett is the big loser today - the New Zealander was not with his GC rivals there...

Here's the moment Oscar Rodriguez - looking cool as a cucumber - took his first pro win on the biggest stage possible.

Jesus Herrada (Cofidis) looked a wreck when he crossed the line all on his own - but the Spaniard managed to limit his losses there and he will still be in the red jersey tomorrow.

It's going to take a while to work out what happened on that climb - the cameras were all on the leaders and so we didn't see the GC group blow apart. We know that Lopez has a mechanical issue and that Ion Izagirre was dropped - because his brother Gorka, who was in the break, slowed up in the final kilometre, let Quintana and Yates pass him, and waited to help pace his brother to the line.

Quintana takes about seven seconds from Yates over the line with Mas just afterwards and then the likes of Pinot, Valverde and Kelderman.

Quintana now puts in a big dig but Yates has his measure with Mas behind.

Meanwhile, back with the favourites and Quintana has ridden clear with Yates. They have Enric Mas with them but the others have been dropped.

Victory for Oscar Rodriguez (Euskadi-Murias). The Spaniard has time to zip up his jersey and milk in the applause. What a ride there...

It looked like Majka was going to close the door on Rodriguez but the Spaniard has a second wind.

Majka leads the chase on Rodriguez - and the Pole has dropped Teuns. Meanwhile, behind, Miguel Angel Lopez has a mechanical issue and has stopped...

What an extraordinary ride from the 23-year-old Grand Tour debutant. He's left Majka and Teuns for dead and is riding towards a monumental victory. The Spaniard is out of contract next year...

Just one kilometre to go now for the three leaders. Or should I say the one leader? For Rodriguez has ridden clear of Teuns and Majka... Further back, the main pack has caught De Gendt and Mate.
1.1km
Wow - Rodriguez has ridden up to the leading duo just ahead of the flamme rouge.
1.3km
Teuns and Majka have Oscar Rodriguez of Euskadi-Murias closing in. What a result that would be.
1.5km
Back with the leaders and Teuns has caught Majka and both riders are weaving up the steepest 24% section of this ridiculous climb. Three and a half minutes down, Yates and Haig have come to the front for Mitchelton-Scott.
1.6km
Astana have two riders on the front of the pack and LottoNL-Jumbo with three. Kwiatkowski is there too, as is Yates and Valverde and Quintana... the calm before the storm.
