One non-starter today: Jean-Pierre Drucker (Bora-Hansgrohe), who finished last yesterday. He joins Marco Marcato (UAE Team Emirates) and Tony Martin (Jumbo-Visma) who withdrew following that nasty crash yesterday.

Yesterday, Remi Cavagna capped a memorable Stage 19 at La Vuelta by holding off a fast-finishing pack to claim a fine solo triumph. Cavgana attacked with 22km to go, leaving the eight other escapees in his dust on the approach to Toledo. The former French U23 time trial champion never looked like being reeled back in once he got a gap.
