Millar stripped of gold

After admitting to using doping substances, Britain's David Millar has officially been stripped of his world time-trial gold medal that he won in October 2003 in Hamilton, Canada. Eleven months later, Australian Michael Rogers inherits the former Cofidis
The International Cycling Union (UCI) announced Rogers' new status on Monday, less than three weeks before the 2004 world championships open in Verona, Italy.
"The title of world champion as well as the gold medal and the rainbow jersey of this discipline are attributed to the Australian rider Michael Rogers," a UCI statement said.
The silver medal will now be awarded to German Uwe Peschel and the bronze to another German, Michael Rich.
Scottish rider Millar is serving a two-year doping ban.
