The car that Citroën hopes will bring it on-stage success from 2018 gets its first public airing on Rallye du Var in France later this month.
Recently-crowned national champion Yoann Bonato will drive the Citroën C3 R5 on the French championship finale as one of the course-opening zero cars.

Once homologated by motorsport’s governing body, the FIA, the C3 R5 will be eligible for the European Rally Championship.

Indeed, two notable ERC graduates, Craig Breen and Stéphane Lefebvre, have helped to notch up more than 4000 kilometres of development running.

Yves Matton, Citroën Racing Team Principal, said: "It made perfect sense to me to ask him to drive the Citroën C3 R5 on its first public outing at Rallye du Var. It will put the spotlight on an excellent driver, who has actively participated in the development of our new customer racing product. Rallye du Var gives us the opportunity to show the car to anyone who is really interested; it will also enable the technical team to assess the maturity of the development in different conditions to those you get in a test session.”

Rallye du Var takes place from 23-26 November.
