FIA European Rally Championship newcomer auto24 Rally Estonia has won the inaugural ERC Rally of the Year award for 2014.
The event, which was based between the cities of Otepää and Tartu in July, was declared a huge success at the time with thousands of fans lining the route and organisers introducing a number of exciting elements and innovations.
Throughout the year, ERC promoter Eurosport Events has been assessing the various merits of each round of the championship and voted auto24 Rally Estonia as the standout event of 2014.
Eurosport Events’ Motorsport Director, François Ribeiro, used the ERC Awards Ceremony in Corsica last Sunday to highlight the efforts of the auto24 Rally Estonia organising team, which was represented in Ajaccio by Tarmo Hõbe and Silver Kütt.
Barum Czech Rally Zlín organisers were also praised for their Happy video, which was inspired by the Pharrel Williams song of the same name.
