Zawada thanks outgoing co-driver Derousseaux ahead of ERC island adventure

Zawada begins his partnership with Dachowski in a Red Opel Motorsport Team Spain-run Opel Adam R2 for what will be his Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés debut.

“The new season means a lot of new things to me,” said the 23-year-old MSZ Racing driver. “First of all, I'd like to say 'thank you' to Cathy Derousseaux, who was my co-driver for the last three seasons. Those were the years that taught me a lot and I'm really grateful to her for being with me.

“From this rally onwards right seat in our rally car will belong to very experienced Grzegorz Dachowski, who has been in rallying for years and took part in great deal of European championship events. Co-driver aside, the livery of our car will another new thing for this season. On the Canary Islands we will represent Red Opel Motorsport Team Spain, thanks to the support of such companies as: Overcame Gran Canaria, Media Service Zawada, Modesto Polska i Promofactor and Smaczek z Doliny Radomki. The competition, including some Polish drivers, looks very tough and that's why I can't wait for the rally to start.”

Dachowski said: “Everything will be new for me. New team, new driver, new car, a rally that I never contested before and, above all, English pace notes. There's a lot to take in, so that's why, together with the MSZ Racing crew, we try to prepare ourselves as good as we can. We're happy that Rally Islas Canarias will be such a big test for us. It won't be included in the Junior ERC standing, so that's why we can treat it as the final test before the upcoming events.”
