Gelson Dala was the star of the show as he helped Angola to a 3-2 win over Mauritania at the Stade de la Paix to move top of Group D. Mauritania fought hard, but succumbed to a second defeat in as many AFCON group stage matches, and need a win against Algeria to avoid finishing bottom of the group. Elsewhere in Group E, Mali and Tunisia shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Gelson Dala's brace helped secure Angola a memorable 3-2 win over Mauritania at the Stade de la Paix in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Dala broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with an audacious scissor-kick, but Mauritania hit back in some style shortly before half-time.
Sidi Bouna Amar scored a stunning individual goal with a mazy run past a string of Angolan defenders before smashing a ferocious finish past Neblu.
But Angola did not have to wait long to restore their advantage thanks to Dala's second of the game with a clinical finish off the post, before Gilberto added a second with a fine strike to make it 3-1.
However, a pulsating contest took another twist when Aboubakary Koita halved the deficit with a stunning long-range effort that nestled into the top corner.
Angola now top Group D heading into the final round of group-stage matches and know that a win over Burkina Faso will seal them a place in the knockout stages, while Mauritania face a huge battle to qualify and must beat Algeria to avoid finishing bottom.

Tunisia and Mali battle to keenly-contested draw

Tunisia and Mali battled to a hotly-contested 1-1 draw in a Group E clash in Korhogo.
Both goals were scored in the first half, as Hamza Rafia earned Tunisia a point after cancelling out Lassine Sinayoko's opener.
Eric Chelle’s Mali took the lead when Sinayoko latched onto Kamory Doumbia's pass and unleashed a fine finish into the bottom corner.
Rafia then struck following a brilliant run into the box to covert Ali Abdi’s precise cut-back.
Mali were left to bemoan some sloppy finishing after the break, as both Hamari Traore and Sinayoko saw golden opportunities go begging.
Chelle's side remain tantalisingly close to securing a place in the last 16, while Tunisia must beat South Africa to have any chance of progression.
