The final whistle goes and Mali beat Ghana 3-1 to claim third place at the African Cup of Nations.

Ghana with a late attack but this match is done. Wakaso on the ball, almost lashes out at Coulibaly before tackling team-mate Boateng! Wakaso is a liability.

GOAL MALI! 3-1! Diarra with a superb half-volley across the keeper into the bottom right! Terrible defending though as the Ghana defence allowed the ball to drop to him after a speculative long pass from Diawara.

This time Diakite grabs a high ball into the box with ease.

Wakaso with the second corner. Asante goes down claiming a penalty but is booked for diving! Good refereeing. Where was this lad in the semis?

Coulibaly almost handles in the box after the ball flicks off his knee, hits the turf and back up into his body! Not sure he touched it and definitely not intended! Now Boateng crosses and Adomah heads on goal but, this time, the keeper claims.

Diawara goes down holding his face before the free-kick is taken. Wasting time or was he struck? Clottey elbowed him in the chest! Should be a red card.

Tamboura is limping a bit now maybe I was being harsh on him. Ghana have a throw on the right wing - may as well shoot on sight with this keeper, whose previously decent game has fallen apart under no pressure at all.

Tamboura is taken down in full flight by Asamoah, but the ref points to the ball. Tamboura stays down. The ref doesn't stop play and Ghana end up kicking it out. Tamboura is fine I think.

Awful keeping from Diakite, who dived way too far to the right with the ball headed more central. Frustration for Mali. Keita, meanwhile, has a speculative effort of his own but Dauda claims.

GOAL GHANA! Asamoah with a long-range effort that spins in off Diakite's hand! Terrible keeping again, he's just fallen apart!

Wakaso has a chance to put a ball in with Ghana players arriving en masse, but he overhits a poor crossfield pass out for a throw.

Traore sends the corner far post but Keita can't connect with an attempted bicycle kick and the whistle goes for a foul.

Mali almost make it three! Diarra, who just came on, wriggles away and fires inches wide! Deflection, corner.

The ref has a chat with Wakaso after a foul on Traore, he's already been booked and the man in black explains that he doesn't want to send anyone off. I have to say, aside from the error for the penalty, the ref's been excellent.

A long ball headed for touch bounces off the Mali corner flag and stays in play, before trickling out.
