Manchester United and Chelsea both extended their unbeaten starts to the Women's Super League season with 5-0 and 4-2 wins over Everton and Brighton respectively. It was a fine response for Marc Skinner's side, who were eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, Meanwhile, Chelsea comfortably saw off The Seagulls at Kingsmeadow after going a goal down.

Manchester United continued their unbeaten start to the Women’s Super League season with a 5-0 thrashing of Everton at Walton Hall Park.
A brace each for Rachel Williams and Nikita Parris alongside a goal for Melvine Malard sealed a comprehensive win for Marc Skinner’s side, who bounced back from their UEFA Champions League disappointment in style.
Malard broke the deadlock in the 14th minute after heading the ball past Courtney Brosnan, before Parris scored her first of the afternoon when nodding the ball home to double their lead just shy of the hour mark.
Williams added a third for The Red Devils with a scrappy finish from point-blank range, despite Brosnan's best efforts to clear the danger.
She then added her second and United's fourth after meeting Jayde Riviere's delivery with a fine header, completing her brace within 12 minutes of her introduction from the bench.
Parris wrapped up the scoring in emphatic fashion with a delightful chipped finish over Brosnan, leaving United on eight points from their first four games played.
Meanwhile, this heavy defeat for The Toffees leaves Brian Sorensen’s side 10th in the table after collecting just three points from four matches.

Chelsea power past Brighton

Reigning champions Chelsea moved up to second after recovering from a goal down to beat Brighton 4-2 at Kingsmeadow.
The hosts were stunned when Pauline Bremer ghosted unmarked into the box and met Katie Robinson’s cross with a fine finish to score her first goal for the club.
It only appeared to be a matter of time until their lead was wiped out though, as The Blues' equaliser came courtesy of Sjoeke Nusken in first-half stoppage time.
The German headed home past Sophie Baggaley from Jess Carter's cross to shift momentum to the hosts.
Nusken added hers and Chelsea's second in the 52nd minute when slotting the ball home from Sam Kerr's cross, before a separate shot deflected in off Guro Bergsvand to extend their advantage.
Emma Hayes' side were not done, as Aggie Beever-Jones added a fourth after being given the freedom of the penalty box to slot past Baggaley from Nusken's cross.
Brighton grabbed a consolation when Elisabeth Terland turned home a Maisie Symonds cross.
The Blues are now only behind Manchester City on goal difference, as Gareth Taylor’s side edged out Leicester 1-0 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, it was a disappointing trip to the capital for The Seagulls, who have now lost their last three WSL games and sit ninth in the table.

West Ham and Liverpool share spoils

An injury-time equaliser from Riko Ueki snatched a point for West Ham against Liverpool at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
The Reds dominated proceedings throughout, with Ceri Holland going close shortly before the break, with a curling effort rattling the crossbar, and Gemma Bonner's header not long after also came back off the upright.
Marie Hobinger broke the deadlock with a slotted finish into the corner from the edge of the area to put the visitors deservedly ahead, but the hosts fought back resiliently as Izzy Atkinson saw an effort saved before Ueki bundled one over the line in the fifth minute of additional time.

Arsenal survive Bristol City scare

Katie McCabe was the two-goal hero as Arsenal claimed their first away win of the WSL season at Ashton Gate.
In front of a club-record women's attendance of more than 12,000, The Vixens fought superbly against an experienced Arsenal side, but McCabe's quality was the telling difference.
The Republic of Ireland captain opened the scoring with a spectacular long-range strike on seven minutes, but City were level nine minutes later, when Rachel Furness nodded home.
McCabe's winner came just shy of the hour mark as she found a pocket of space in the penalty area to get a shot away, and, thanks to a deflection off Bristol City defender Brooke Aspin, she gave The Gunners just their second win of the season.
