FC will be absolutely "gutted" to have chucked this. They were so obviously superior, but somehow reticent to assert it. Anyway, Martin hacks down Schindler and is booked; he won't mind, because when the free-kick comes in, Muller claims easily.

There'll be four added minutes.

FC have at it and Skhiri charges towards the box; Niakhate pulls him back, Skhiri reacts, and because the ref only saw the latter, only the former is booked.

Here come Mainz, Szalai dashing boxwards and sliding in Quaison! This is his moment! But he hesistates, and Leistner slides in to foil.

FC win a free-kick 35 yards out and Uth sticks it towards the far post where Leistner arrives, pounding a gigantic header just wide.

A triple change for Mainz, Latza, Barreire and Burkardt bumping elbows with Kunde, Onisiwo and Boetius.

Eeesh! FC rediscover themselves and Schindler, who's done well, drives a low cross that Cordoba can't quite get on the end of, thanks to some excellent desperate defending from Baku and Niakhare.

First flash of Schindler, pulling wide down the right and slinging over a brilliant cross. Cordboa can't help but attack it - in fairness, if he doesn't the defender probably clears - but behind him, Drexler wonders what might've been.
77'
Perhaps the game got too easy for FC, but Mainz have looked lively in attack all the way through the game.

Another change for FC, Rexhbecaj, on loan from Wolfsburg, on for Hector. Horn takes the armband.

This would be a huge point for Mainz.

Football. This is why we're here.

WHAT A GOAL! FC Koln 2-2 Mainz (Kunde) THIS IS NOT OVER! Kunde picks up possession 25 yards from goal and looks for Quaison, but then the space ahead of him opens and he absolutely hammers through it, blazing between four defenders and digging out a finish that was harder than it looked, popping the ball inside the near post. Football!

Change for FC, Schindler replacing Kainz.

Martin curls over a lovely cross and for a second it looks like Awoniwi is under it, but then he falls over. Lovely stuff.
