As for Sancho, this is what Dortmund had to say yesterday. Officially he misses out through injury, but there has been a suggestion from some that he is still holing out hope for a move to Old Trafford and that is the real reason for his absence.

Emre Can and Manuel Akanji are the only outfield players in the Dortmund side who played the full 90 minutes against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup on Wednesday. The midfield dup of Axel Witsel and Bellingham both began that game on the bench, with only the Englishhman coming on, so should provide fresh legs, but managing his players will be on Favre's mind and could prove tricky if the game is tight come the second half.
