SEASON SO FAR
BVB have started fairly strongly under new manager Marco Rose, currently placing third in the league behind Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen as well as winning both of their Champions League group games so far.
Mainz, on the other hand, have been very inconsistent and seem on course for yet another mid-table finish, although manager Bo Svensson - a former Mainz player himself - does in fact sport a better points per game record than his esteemed predecessors Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.

MAINZ TEAM NEWS
Bo Svensson makes four changes to the XI who started the 2-1 home loss to Union Berlin before the international break.
That includes giving a first Bundesliga start to 22 year-old centre midfielder Anton Stach, who got promoted with Greuther Furth last season before winning the Under-21 Euros with Germany, featuring for them at the Olympics and joining Mainz for €3.5million.

DORTMUND TEAM NEWS
After missing the last three games before the international break, Erling Haaland is back in the starting XI as Marco Rose makes three changes to the team who started the 2-1 win over Augsburg at the start of this month.
During the international break, Gio Reyna and Raphael Guerreiro joined Mahmoud Dahoud, Marcel Schmelzer, Mateu Morey and Youssoufa Moukoko on the injury list.
