The corner is taken short before Hulk puts the ball into the area, and Zenit attempt to scramble a chance before a relieved Weidenfeller takes the ball.

Aubameyang's heavy touch gifts the ball to Witsel in space outside the area. The Dortmund defenders back off and allow the Belgian to shoot low, forcing Weidenfeller to tip wide.

Jojic travels forward with the ball promisingly but completely misreads the situation and passes into space, much to the bewilderment of Lewandowski.

Piszczek looks to be limping after that collision with Sokratis. Another injury concern in the Dortmund defence!

Dortmund win a free kick deep in their own half as a defensive blunder between Sokratis and Piszczek is covered up by a Hulk foul.

Zenit win a free kick on the left wing which Hulk puts into the box until it is hoofed clear by Aubameyang.

Hulk plays the ball from the right wing towards Rondon, and it bounces dangerously, temporarily bamboozling the Dortmund defence but the striker cannot control it.

Igor Smolnikov replaces Fayzulin as Zenit make their final sub of the night.

Neto makes a hurried clearance as Dortmund come forward, but only as far as Hummels who brings the ball forward and tries to create a second wave of attack.

Weidenfeller is quick off his line to snuff out the danger of a long ball forward towards Rondon.

There are moans every time Dortmund concede possession, but they are doing it with increasing regularity against a Zenit side with faint hope of progress.

Lewandowski is clipped from behind by Anyukov before getting into a scuffle with Witsel. Free kick to Dortmund.

That is the end of Schmelzer's evening as he departs down the tunnel with a knock, to be replaced by young Eric Durm.
