Just 15 minutes left to kick-off now. Copenhagen play their 150th tie in European football tonight and they will be relying on goalkeeper Johan Wiland to help them to a memorable result - Wiland was amazing in nets as the Danish outfit managed a remarkable point against Juventus in the opening match in Group B.

The defeat to their dear rivals has left many supporters questioning Ancelotti's tactics and substitutions but Cristiano Ronaldo has defended his coach and was quoted as saying: "There are new players and new ideas, but the coach is doing a phenomenal job. He is a great person and a great coach. This doesn`t have anything to do with him, the responsibility is ours. I don`t think we are doing so badly, we have only lost one game, but hopefully we can improve."

Karim Benzema has perhaps been controversially selected to lead the home side's attack - he hasn't scored in the previous five league games and isn't popular amongst the fans at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will be eager to bounce back from their first Madrid derby defeat in 14 years after losing 1-0 to fierce rivals Atletico at the weekend - they will seek to take their punishment out on a Copenhagen side who have had a miserable start to in the Danish Superliga - they currently sit second bottom following a devastating 3-2 loss to Brøndby.

One name familiar to English football fans is Copenhagen's defender Olof Mellberg. The Swede was solid at the back for Aston Villa for seven years.

Marcelo and Luka Modric both return to the Madrid side.

Carlo Ancelotti continues his strange selection policy to play goalkeeper Iker Casillas only in the Champions League as domestic stopper Diego Lopez drops to the bench. It is Casillas' first appearance at the Bernabeu for almost nine months and has only played 15 minutes so far this season after being forced off with a rib injury in Madrid's previous European encounter with Galatasaray.
