GOAL! Andrei Finonchenko arrives to score from close range. Awful defending by the Celtic defence it must be said. Just a long throw and flick-on for the home man to net. Goodness knows what was happening there.

Ball bounces up onto the hand of Steven Mouyokolo. Appeals for a penalty, but the referee says no.
9'
Mouyokolo wins the ball from Finonchenko after Forster made a mess of a clearance before Van Dijk wins a header in the heart of the Celtic defence.

Commons unloads a shot from distance as the ball spins a few yards wide. A very impressive start here by the Glasgow team.
7'
Celtic keeping the ball well so far as Serhiy Malyi hammers the ball long from their own half. Celtic continue their forward momentum. Some neat possession football.
6'
Shakhter have already raised eyebrows during their run to the play-offs thanks to an unexpected win against FC BATE Borisov in the second qualifying round. Viktor Kumykov's men can draw additional encouragement from a five-match unbeaten home run in Europe.

Van Dijk again in the heart of the action with Mokin fisting away the header by the Dutch defender. Celtic starting really well here.

Virgil van Dijk almost in for the opening goal in the opening seconds, but the home side hack the ball clear from a Mulgrew corner after goalkeeper Alexandr Mokin missed the high ball. So close.

Andrey Poryvaev nods behind and Celtic will have a corner here in the opening seconds.

Samaras laying the ball off to Commons, but the Greek striker fails to read the return pass and Shakhter can clear the danger from deep. The home side seem to be wearing Dundee United's home shirt from last season.

Celtic get the match off and running here on an artificial surface.

Celtic are fresh from a 2-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday. And they name a strong side for this match. This is a 9pm kick-off local time. Teams out on the park as we speak. Celtic in their traditional green and white hooped shirts. The home side in orange.

"The players have ground out a few results along the way and it might be a case of having to do that again until we get them back to Celtic Park where it will suit us being at home," said Celtic manager Neil Lennon. "‘We’ll have to be spot on mentally and make sure we are well organised and drilled. I think mentality has a lot to do with it. Looking at it, we have better players, but they are a team that has never reached this stage of the competition and will be hungry for success."

Virgil van Dijk makes his first start for Celtic alongside Steven Mouyokolo in central defence. Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose is on the bench. Scotland winger James Forrest returns to the starting line-up after being on the bench, but there is no place in the squad for new Dutch signing Derk Boerrigter, who has been toiling with an ankle problem.
