Good evening and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE commentary of the last 16 Champions League deciding leg between FC Porto and FC Basel. Can Porto extend their unbeaten run in this season’s competition or will the Swiss side pull off an upset and qualify for the last eight for the first time since 1974? We've had a fairly timid opening five minutes with, as expected, Poro controlling the possession. The hosts have yet to carve open an opportunity as of yet.

Basel only had one shot in the first leg - Derlis Gonzalez’s goal in the 11th minute. Porto had 15. The key stat? The score finished 1-1 meaning everything is to play for tonight.

Basel are set up to frustrate the hosts and will be aiming to feed upon scraps in the opening stages of this match. You sense if they can make it to the break level they will go for the kill in the latter stages of the contest.

Both sets of teams are warming up at the Estadio do Dragao where Porto are unbeaten in the Champions League since October 13. However, if you think Basel will be a walkover, think again. The Swiss side won their last three heading into tonight's match, scoring 10 goals, conceding only one. Kick-off takes place in 15 minutes.

Paulo Sousa (Basel coach): “This feels amazing. It's something really special to compete at this level and we are happy to be here, competing against the best – we are confident and positive. Any time we can relieve the pressure posed by Porto we can create difficulties. That might be when our goal appears.”

Julen Lopetegui (Porto coach): “We are talking about the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the opportunity to be among the best eight in the competition. We are level and Basel will ensure that we have to be at our best to go through.”

STAR MAN: Porto may be clear favourites to overcome their Swiss opponents but they will have to be wary of forward Shkelzen Gashi, who has already netted 16 goals this season.

Basel’s Marco Streller is hopeful this will not be his final appearance in the Champions League after announcing he will retire at the end of the season. He is joined in the starting XI by Fabian Schar who returns after serving a suspension, however, Marek Suchy and Ivan Ivanov miss out. Paulo Sousa’s side have made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League for only the second time in their history after 2011/12 and are 3/1 to progress tonight.

As expected, Jackson Martinez does not feature for the hosts this evening and is replaced by Vincent Aboubakar – a striker who has averaged a goal every 91 minutes in this season’s competition. Adrian Lopez and Oliver Torres also miss out through injury. Porto haven’t made it past the last 16 of the Champions League since 2008/09, but they are clear favourites to complete the job here and have the advantage of an away goal from the first leg.
