What a sublime move that was. Not a great start for Juve after all. They had been bright but have been sucker-punched in dramatic and magnificent style.

Juventus are hoping they can become the second Italian team to complete the domestic and European treble tonight - and will dedicate any triumph to the 39 victims that lost their lives 30 years on from the Heysel Stadium tragedy.

Barca boss Luis Enrique told the world press that his side must remain focus to seal a sensational season. He said: "The fans are euphoric and we are delighted with that. But as professionals we will approach the game with the utmost seriousness. We will need to have a good day to get past a rival of this magnitude. I want to have the ball more than them, occupy their half and play at a top level but we are sure to have some difficulties. I don't think it will be a clash of styles as they will want to have the ball too. They have resources and that's why they are also in with a chance of a treble."

Max Allegri: "Everyone will give their all. It’s a one-off game, so we’ll have no chance to get revenge. We’ll have to be in the best physical condition, which we are, and the best mental condition, which we are. We’re playing against a team which has great individuals, and also a great collective. But, like every team, they have weaknesses. Is Messi unstoppable? I hope he’s stoppable. We started with a big goal, to make the last eight. We did better than that, we’re in the last two. Now we want to be first. I think we’ll be very focused on the game, because it will be a great game. As with every final, a bit of luck will be needed, but we’ll have to be very good to make sure the luck is on our side.”

Lionel Messi, who shares the all-time record with Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo of 77 Champions League goals, would become the first player to score in three Champions League finals if he finds the net here. He also scored in the 2009 and 2011 finals.
