I was about to say that the atmosphere at the Etihad is subdued... and it's fair to say that Kompany hobbling off hasn't lifted spirits in Manchester.

Mangala comes on as Kompany hobbles down the tunnel.

Vincent Kompany is down, staring blankly into the distance. There was no contact, he just pulled up while running for a clearance and then put his hand up to signal for a sub. The disappointment radiates out of him - fingers crossed it's not too serious.

The hosts have dominated the early stages, setting up as expected, with Yaya in the hole behind Aguero.

The game's underway at the Etihad. City are in their usual sky blue and white. The visitors are in all-blue with white trim.

This game might not have the neutrals salivating, but it’s huge for Manchester City and Joe Hart has summed it up beautifully:

"It's really exciting being in this situation, going into the last-16 game with a good option of going through, doing something I haven't done before and creating history for this club."

Now that is a jazzy stat.

That being said, City are huge favourites and if they don’t progress from this position it would be their biggest Champions League disappointment yet… and there are a fair few to choose from. Seeing as City are drifting well off the pace in the Premier League you would hope that the players will be focussed on this competition as their main aim for the remainder of the season.

Goals from Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Yaya Toure have given City a 3-1 lead going into this game, but the English side didn’t have it all their own way in the first leg. Dynamo are a decent outfit – which is hardly a shock given they have made it this far in the competition – and an early goal for the visitors could make the Etihad a bit nervy tonight.

Yaya Toure is fit to start in place of Wilfried Bony after missing the weekend’s goalless draw against Norwich, while Pablo Zabaleta replaces Bacary Sagna in the only other change.
