Bale is looking sharp and quick, and Florenzi does not look comfortable dealing with his pace. Kroos tries an optimistic effort that Szczesny easily saves.

Bale beats Florenzi down the left and pulls the ball back to Marcelo, who drags his shot just wide of the Roma goal.

The ball actually hit Zukanovic's elbow. But some nice possession play from Madrid now as they try and take hold of play.

Dzeko back to harry Ramos at the back - Ronaldo then has an effort on the edge of the box that he feels hits a Roma hand. It didn't.

Bale and Ronaldo kick off for Real Madrid, in their all-white kit, against Roma in their usual reddish kit. Pjanic has an early free-kick to float into the Madrid box, which is cleared.

Real Madrid defender Pepe says his side need to be wary about the pace of the Roma trident of Salah, El Shaarawy and Perotti behind Dzeko.
“Roma have great players, they’re good in Europe and one of the best in Italy,” he said.
“They have fast players on the wings, and that is the kind of thing which could cause us problems.

Real Madrid have not eliminated an Italian side in a European knockout fixture for almost 29 years, failing eight times since beating Diego Maradona era Napoli 3-1 on aggregate in 1987.

Roma knocked out Real Madrid at the Round of 16 stage in 2007/08, the last time the two sides met in the knock-out stages, but Spalletti says that 4-2 aggregate win counts for nothing. "It’s nice to be reminded of it, but there aren’t many players left from last time” he said.
19:30
Roma boss Luciano Spalletti has urged his players to forget about the first leg and the two-goal deficit ahead of tonight's match in Madrid. “The first result penalises us, but must not think about the result, if all the talk is about having to score three goals it becomes difficult,” he said. “In football other things can have an influence, fundamental psychological things have an effect. If we can get a goal, then the game becomes different in our heads.”

It is not just Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez who approves of Spalletti's starting eleven - AS Roma President James Pallotta says: "I would like 3-0. The guys are definitely ready, we’ve got a great line-up and we are going to attack them.”
19:20
Roma will need a Champions League first if they are to progress to the last eight tonight - but Roma's attacking four have 16 goals between them since the end of January (Salah 6, El Shaarawy 5, Perotti 2, Dzeko 3)
