The final whistle goes and Tottenham have escaped with a draw after being completely outplayed in the second half. It was Leverkusen who were under the cosh before the break, but on the balance of play it will be Mauricio Pochettino's side who will be the happier with a point that keeps them second in Group E.

Brandt turns and shoots on the edge of the box, but his effort is tame and Lloris drops on the ball. Will that be the last chance of the match?

It's Brandt again who bursts clear behind the Spurs defence, but his square ball across the box is cleared by Vertonghen.

Brandt makes an instant impact, setting off on a mazy run that rips open the Spurs midfield. He looks to play Kiessling in, but the striker's legs fail him and he's caught before he can get within shooting range.

Chicharito's night is over as he's replaced by Brandt for the final few minutes.

A low cross finds Kiessling yards from goal, but Dier does just enough to put the striker off and his shot flies wide.

Rose loses his footing as he bursts into the box, but there are no appeals for a penalty and the referee rightly opts against a game-changing decision.

Alli picks out Eriksen with a wonderful raking pass and then Eriksen drops a shoulder to create space for a cross. Son was waiting unmarked at the far stick, but the Dane's delivery is too close to the keeper.

Okay, I said I wouldn't mention it again, but it's been the moment of the match by a distance...

Tottenham can scarcely believe their luck that it's still goalless, but they have another quarter of an hour to see out and the atmosphere has cranked up another notch. It was all Spurs in the first half, but since the break it's been a complete about turn.

The game is really opening up, with Spurs giving the ball away to give Leverkusen a chance to break and then the visitors respond with a pacy counter of their own.

Leverkusen's skipper has run himself into the ground and is given a rest.

Lloris punches a corner, but only as far as Toprak, who controls the clearance and lashes a shot narrowly wide. Surely a goal is coming?! It feels inevitable.

Tottenham make another change, removing the relentless Lamela (who couldn't possibly sustain his level of energy for 90 minutes) and bringing on summer signing Sissoko.

Tottenham are getting pulled apart in midfield, which is in stark contrast to the balance of play in the first-half. There are just 20 minutes remaining and if you were the betting sort then you'd out your money on Leverkusen from here.

It's another save by Lloris, who is fortunate that Toprak's header was straight at him.

Kiessling lashes a shot towards the near post that Lloris pushes wide.
