Supporting Arsenal seems like the most exhausting thing in the world, but they are, as they (now apparently) say, in a good moment. Though they're not actually playing all that well, things are going their way, and the truth is it barely matters what happens tonight, in that there's no chance they're winning this competition, whereas the race for the title is as open as last season. But they'll want to top the group, and to do that they need to better whatever PSG manage at home to Ludogorets, even if there are plenty of challenging ties available to group winners too.

So, Arsenal complete their programme without losing a game, and wait on full-time in Paris to see whether it's enough to finish top. Either way, they look a real team for the first time in a long time, and dispatched admittedly awful opponents with minimum effort and maximum prejudice.

Full-time: Basel 1-4 Arsenal

PSG have equalised against Ludogorets, and have injury time to find a winner.

I can't recall the last time I saw a team play as badly as Basel have tonight, apart from the last two games West Ham have played.

There shall be two added minutes.

Arsenal tap the ball to each other, encouraging time to pass.

Oh dear; Steffen pulls up with no one near him, and appears to have knackered a hamstring. He's had a decent game, as far as it goes, and that's the diarrhoea icing on the turd cake that Basel have wolfed down this evening.

Some kicking of the ball by various people, and not much else.

"It's all about the draw, who you're gonna play and who you're gonna avoid." Insight with Martin.

Traore pegs down the left and crosses, but no one can apply the finish, so Basel try again. This time, Holding does very well to insert his head as Janko does likewise, and though Doumbia eventually wins a corner; it comes to nothing.

I think Arsenal are still going to nick this.

LOVELY GOAL! BASEL 1-4 ARSENAL (DOUMBIA) What a goal this is! Holding gives the ball away just outside the box, right-hand side, and Doumbia performs a Zidane pirouette, exchanges passes with Janko, cuts across the face of goal and lifts a finish over the diving Ospina with outside of his right foot.

Enliven your evening with some cringe:

So, at what level is Sanchez now, and how long does he have to sustain it to be deemed at it? Because for all the brilliance of Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez and Neymar, it's the incredible consistency, over seasons not weeks, that sets them apart.

Just what Basel need: Ozil, who's had an exceedingly relaxing evening, is replaced by Walcott, who no doubt fancies stretching his legs.

Another change for Basel: Serey Die departs, Zuffi arrives.

Giroud replaces Ramsey. Is it showing off if I say that last week, he and Robert pires complimented my wife's handbag? Autographs on request.

On comes Elneny ... off goes Sanchez. There is now even less point to the rest of this game. Selfish behaviour, Arsene.

Wow, Ludogorets, who showed in both Arsenal games that they are no fools whatsoever, have retaken the lead in Paris.

Oh man! What a free-kick this is from Sanchez! Form outside the box, just left of centre, smacks it, not quite knuckleball-style - his approach is still for a curler - and it swings left then flies right, diddling the keeper by a couple of yards, and smacking the underside of the bar. The ball then bounces down and Ramsey heads into Vaclik's arms, but really, that was special.
