Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of what promises to be a titanic tussle between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last-16 first leg from the Bernabeu. The reigning champions have been in woeful form in La Liga, and trail leaders Barcelona by a colossal 17 points. Domestically, PSG have had no such trouble, and lead Ligue 1 by 12 points. However, with superstars aplenty of both sides, they start this encounter very much on an even keel. I'm Pete Hall, and I will be bringing you the action, as it happens, live!

Fantastic ball into the middle from Neymar, but Raphael Varane does superbly to get there before Cavani to make the block.

Marcelo seems to be fine to carry on. That PSG front three of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar very quiet so far.

Audible moans from all around as Marcelo takes a tumble. Seemed to land awkwardly.

Yuri Berchiche latches on to a Neymar threaded pass, but his cross-cum-shot fizzes well wide.

SAVE! Kroos has time and space after a short corner to line up the shot, curls for goal, but Alphonse Areola is equal to it. The parry isn't convincing though, leaving Marquinhos with a difficult clearance, which he just slices wide of his own goal.

Neymar takes a thwack in the middle of the park. Not the first big challenge he will face.

NO PENALTY! Relentless start from Real Madrid as they press high and don't give the visitors a second on the ball. Toni Kroos takes a tumble in the box, but the Italian referee waves away Real appeals for a penalty.

KICK OFF! We are up and running here in the Spanish capital. With so much attacking talent on show, it cannot fail to disappoint as spectacle, can it?

Time to make amends? Big-spending PSG memorably lost to Barcelona at the same stage last season, winning the first leg 4-0 before Neymar - now with the French club following a world record £198m move - inspired Barca to a 6-1 win in the return game. Real must be wary of a team with a huge point to prove, but with manager Zinedine Zidane under intense pressure, the Champions League can be his, and Real’s salvation. We are minutes away!

A real fall from grace...

He may have only netted a measly 11 league goals so far this season, but Cristiano Ronaldo has still produced the goods in Europe. In six Champions League group games, the Portugal captain fired nine strikes. PSG aren't exactly goal shy either. The French champions scored 25 goals in this season’s group stages, a record in the group phase of the competition. Can this game just start already?

No surprise who fronts this…

HEAD-TO-HEAD: PSG have eliminated Real Madrid in their two previous knockout encounters (1992/93 UEFA Cup, 1993/94 Cup Winners Cup), both times in the quarter-finals.

EMERY FULL OF SURPRISES! Yuri Berchiche and Giovani Lo Celso are surprise starters for PSG in the Bernabeu. Both Yuri and Lo Celso have started to work their way into the PSG set-up in recent weeks but it is still a huge surprise to see them both start, particularly the latter over Lassana Diarra

Looking pristine…

EMERY NO SHYING AWAY EITHER! The vastly experienced Thiago Silva is on the bench for PSG, with Presnel Kimpembe getting the nod in defence. Unai Emery makes a couple of changes following PSG’s 1-0 victory over Toulouse on Saturday. Marco Verratti returns to replace Lassana Diarra in midfield while Angel di Maria makes way for Edinson Cavani. Neymar, as you I'm sure you guessed, starts.

BIG CALL FROM ZIDANE! Isco starts ahead of Gareth Bale this evening for the host. The Welsh wizard is on the bench, should he be required. Zinedine Zidane makes three changes to the side which beat Real Sociedad 5-2 on Saturday. Nacho replaces the suspended Dani Carvajal in defence while Casemiro and Isco return in place of Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.
