Champions League live: Benfica v Liverpool updates

Diaz restores the visitors' two-goal cushion as he charges after Keita's through ball, rounds the keeper and fires home.

The visitors open Benfica up on the right. Henderson could drill it into the six-yard box but opts to lift it towards Diaz who guides wide of the near post after being slightly unsighted by a defender's jump.

The set piece is well defended by the hosts, who are readying another change. Do they have one big push in them to try and get an equaliser?

Liverpool will be happy with a lead heading back to Anfield but surely there will be a feeling of what might have been for Klopp and co. They could have put this tie out of sight in that first half and with such big games coming over the next week or two, it would have been a welcome bonus for the second leg to have been a formality. That won't be the case as it stands.

Liverpool are playing a bit of keep-ball to try and take the sting out of Benfica. It's certainly quietened the crowd slightly. Of course, a third goal would be the best way to do that!

Elsewhere, Man City have gone 1-0 ahead at home to Atletico Madrid. Kevin de Bruyne is the man on target for the Citizens.

Nunez escapes down the left and is clear of the Liverpool defence. He drives into the area but throws himself to the floor trying to turn inside the recovering van Dijk. The referee isn't interested - and VAR backs him up - but the whistles of disapproval from the home fans are deafening!
