Corentin Tolisso chips a corner into the area and it is cleared for a corner by Alba.

Bayern are struggling to contain Barca attacks early on as Dembele crosses in. It is cleared.

Decent move by Barca sees the ball reach Jordi Alba, and he shoots on target but doesn't test Neuer.

Ter Stegen plays the ball right to Lewandowski who charges in on goal. Busquets fouls him and is booked with defenders covering.

Decent start by Barca. Araujo gets forward and crosses, but it is cleared. They are coming back again, though.

We are a few minutes away from kick off, can Barca sneak through?

If Barcelona fail to go through tonight, it'll bring a 19-year run of successive qualifications dating back to 2000. This is an unprecedented level of precariousness for Xavi's side but a real show of how disastrous the past year and more has been.

Bayern have won the last three meetings and will be red hot favourites to extend what is already the longest winning run against Barcelona in the Champions League.

But the size of Barca's task is being laid bare in front of them. They've never won at Bayern in the Champions League in four attempts, drawing one and losing three. That is their worst record in the competition.

It may be a tough time in transition for Barcelona, but there is a milestone to be marked tonight. Sergio Busquets is set to make his 650th Barcelona appearance.

Bayern have gone strong. Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies all start, as do Thomas Muller, and the Ballon d'Or runner up Robert Lewandowski. Top spot in the group is assured, but they are looking to become just the third side to go all the way through the group stage without dropping a point, after Liverpool and Ajax.

Pedri and Ansu, two of the brightest young stars giving Barca fans hope right now, are still missing tonight. The pressure is on Ousmane Dembele tonight, with Gavi also needing to step up. Philippe Coutinho, who was on loan at Bayern in 2019/20, is on the bench.

What a huge night for Xavi and Barcelona. They need to get a good result, but mainly their hopes will be that Dynamo Kyiv do them a favour against Benfica. Lose in Munich and it gives the Portuguese the chance to go through with a win. Could Barcelona really be in the Europa League come the new year?
