Club Brugge v SL Benfica live: Goncalo Ramos starts at the Jan Breydelstadion

Benfica overcome Club Brugge and give themselves a nice advantage heading into the second leg of this knockout tie.

The Brazilian has been good since coming on and almost added a third goal for his side but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Can Club Brugge pull one back to give them hope for the second leg of this tie?

Bjorn Meijer was complacent with the ball allowing David Neres to pounce and go through one on one with Mignolet. The Brazilian slotted home expertly and Benfica now have a two goal lead.

A good delivery from Lang which Vlachodimos fails to deal with, fortunately Guedes was back to clear on this occasion.

Ferran Jutgla is brought on for Kamal Sowah.

Neres links up well with Bah who crosses the ball into the Brugge box. The box goes over the heads of the Brugge defenders but also goes beyond Aursnes who was rushing in to connect with it.

Neres spreads the ball wide to Grimaldo who cuts it across the box towards Chiquinho but he can't sort out his feet and shoot in time and his attempt is blocked.

The substitute has done well in his short time since coming on. A few nice dribbles and a pass that sent David Neres through but nothing came of it.

The Portuguese side are still largely in control of the game. Club Brugge haven't reacted to going a goal down, they will need to improve if they want to get back into this game.

Goncalo Ramos does well to nip in front of Jack Hendry and win a penalty for Benfica.

Grimaldo whipped in a great cross towards Ramos who had managed to get free in the box. The Portuguese striker met the ball with his knee and couldn't turn it in. The best chance of the night so far.

Rafa Silva has been Benfica's best player so far tonight. The tricky winger has done well to skip past defenders and create chances for his team mates. He has had a few chances of his own but hasn't been able to convert them. Will he find the first goal tonight?
