In the UEFA Champions League though, Real Madrid come to life. They picked up 13 points to finish top of Group F before hammering Liverpool by an aggregate score of 6-2, including scoring five goals at Anfield.

The fact Los Blancos have won more UEFA Champions League trophies since 2011 (5) than La Liga titles (4) is a testament to just how much they turn up in Europe!
