Jadon Sancho produced his best performance since returning to Borussia Dortmund in a 2-0 victory over PSV in the UEFA Champions League, according to manager Edin Terzic. The England international found the net in the third minute as Dortmund wrapped up a 3-1 aggregate win to book their spot in the quarter-finals, but Terzic vowed Sancho is only going to get better.

Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic promised there is “a lot more to come” from Jadon Sancho after the England international helped the German side reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
The 23-year-old scored the first goal in a 2-0 win over PSV as Dortmund progressed 3-1 on aggregate.
Sancho rejoined Dortmund on loan in January after a turbulent 18 months at Manchester United and has started to show glimpses of the kind of form that convinced the Premier League giants to pay £75 million for his signature.
“Seven days ago, everyone was asking me about when he will return to shape and form and when he will score,” Terzic told TNT Sports.
“There was a lot of criticism last week, but we see he is enjoying being with us and playing.”
During his time at United, Sancho became embroiled in a public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman revealed he dropped the Englishman for the game against Arsenal last September after poor performances in training, but Sancho hit back in a now deleted social media post, saying he was being made a “scapegoat”.
Terzic believes Sancho has been boosted since his return to the Bundesliga and that he expects his level to keep improving.
“He’s enjoying being with his team-mates on and off the pitch and Jadon is a player that needs to smile,” Terzic added.
“If he’s smiling then he’s going to shine on the pitch and it’s really for important for us that he can perform like this.
“He did it really well in the last two games and I think tonight was his best performance and we know there’s a lot more to come.”
Sancho admitted it was a “relief” to bag his first UEFA Champions League goal of the campaign and start to repay the faith the club has showed in him.
“I’ve always got a special place for Borussia Dortmund - this is where I kind of made my name,” Sancho told TNT Sports.
“I’ve got to be grateful to them, but also to my team-mates, just for believing in me. I’m just happy that we got the win today.”
His performance was also praised by former England manager Glenn Hoddle, who said it was refreshing to see him play with “confidence” again after cutting a dejected figure for large parts of his time in the Premier League.
“He’s going into places where at United where he just wouldn’t go,” Hoddle said.
“He’s going into awkward places where he’s perhaps going to get kicked, perhaps going to get marked heavily.
“He wanted the ball. In the first half particularly, he wanted the ball so many times. He got annoyed if it didn’t come. That’s when you’re confident. That’s when you’re on top of your game.”
