The 47-year-old was charged by the FA at the end of March for comments he made to supporter Stephen Smith which allegedly constituted five breaches of its rules.
The FA has now confirmed that Oyston, who also told Smith to "enjoy the rest of your special needs day out", has challenged the charge.
In related news, AWOL striker Nile Ranger believes Blackpool "took the Mick" with the contract they offered him as he gave an interview where he tried to explain why things never worked out for him at Bloomfield Road.
The 24-year-old troubled forward remains under contract with the Seasiders but has not played for them since October, with boss Lee Clark even admitting he was unsure of his whereabouts in December.
Now, Ranger, who courted controversy with a slew of off-field incidents during previous stints at Newcastle and Swindon, has accused the club of signing him to a paltry deal and not playing him when he thought he warranted selection.
"With the manager, things weren't clicking," Ranger said in an interview with YouTube channel Straight No Chaser.
"The manager's a good guy, everyone was good, but it's just the way they dealt with the deal. It was a bit off.
"I'm still with them. I'm not on a lot of money to be honest there, they really took the Mick. They put me on a minimum wage and it was pay as you play.
"I thought it was a platform. I was supposed to go to Leeds before that and that fell through so I said, 'You know what, I need to get a Championship club and just show I can do it'. I went to Blackpool, took whatever and tried to do what I had to do.
"But It just didn't work out like I thought it would. I wasn't getting in the squad because of my attitude. I was like, 'How am I supposed to even fill my fridge if I'm not playing?' I knew I should have been playing but it's not how it goes."
Upon arrival with the Tangerines, Ranger thought the move was his last chance but, despite staying away after scoring just twice in 14 appearances, he does not think his football career is over.
"There will be plenty of opportunities," he added. "People think it's all run out now but I believe in my ability."
