Real Murcia are now holding ona little bit as Barcelona put them under pressure. The Catalans are aware that this has been a poor half, but a goal would change the complexion.

Alcacer lines up the freekick from the best part of 30 yards out, but he smacks his effort against the wall and wins the corner kick. He didn't really think he could score from there, did he?

Once again, Real Murcia have the chance to cause some real damage on the counter attack, with Barcelona left short in terms of numbers. But the visitors make the interception.

BEST CHANCE FOR BARCA SO FAR! The cross comes in from the right side, with Alcacer drawing a save from the keeper with his header. Denis then blasts the rebound over the target.

Might Barcelona have to make some changes at the half time interval? This isn't really working for them at the moment. Alcacer in particular has been no impression at all in attack.

Murcia get forward down the left side, with Llorente crossing a ball into the Barcelona area, but this time Vermaelen is alert to the danger and gets a toe to it to clear his lines.

Valverde is out on the touchline and is starting to look a little concerned by the way things are going. Of course, it's still early in this match, but Murcia have more than held their own.

A lack of depth has been an issue for Barcelona in recent seasons. This is a chance for the Catalans to show that they have improved in that regard. Not showing it so far, though.

Deulofeu started the match strongly and looked like he might be set for a productive evening, but his marker seems to have the measure of him. He can't dribble past the full back.

The standard of the play from both sides in this first half hasn't been great. It's not as if Barcelona are showing up their lower league opponents with their quality. They've been poor as well.

Barcelona have looked really sloppy at the back in the opening 30-odd minutes of this match. This time it's Cillessen who is almost caught out after being left short by his defence.

There are a lot of big names on the Barcelona tonight should they find themselves in any sort of trouble. Pique, Roberto and Iniesta are all watching, ready to go if required.

It's rather obvious that Vermaelen is lacking in match sharpness. The former Arsenal defender hasn't looked very switched on. He should have prevented that last Murcia chance.

That opportunity for Real Murcia a few moments ago seems to have woken up the home crowd. It had been a little subdued up until that point, such was the dominance of the Catalans.

That will surely concern Valverde. While Barcelona have undoubtedly had the majority of the possession, it's Real Murcia who have created two of the three best chances so far.

BARCELONA CAUGHT OUT! Vermaelen isn't strong enough in the challenge, allowing the Murcia attacker to get to the byline, but the shot from Oritz is scooped over from six yards.

This is becoming more of a training exercise for Barcelona. They are in constant control of possession. It's just about finding the way to break down this Real Murcia defensive line.

It should be noted that Gomes is in the Barcelona starting lineup for this game. The Portuguese has really struggled to make an impression at Camp Nou since joining last summer.

That was a challenging one for Cillessen. The back pass to the Dutch keeper was a strong one, with the ball bouncing at pace, but to his credit, he dealt with it well. Good with his feet.

There is a feeling here that Barcelona are starting to turn the screw on Real Murcia here. The Catalans are camped on the edge of the box and are probing for the opener.
