The officials used VAR to look at that incident between Vinicius and Semedo, but despite there appearing to be contact between the two, they decide it's not a penalty. I'm not so sure.

You can't really say that there has been a lot of quality on show so far. Barcelona haven't realy settled into the game, and neither have the officials. Another replay shows Vinicius might well have had a penalty.

Penalty claim! Big shouts for a spot kick after Vinicius goes down in the Barcelona box. There didn't look to be much contact, but the Brazilian certainly has the beating of Semedo down the left.

Corner was given! There's no way that was a corner. Ter Stegen stopped it from going behind and it was quite obvious. Nothing comes of the Real Madrid set piece, though.

It's been quite a cagey start to the match from both sides. They realise what is on the line. The nature of the two-legged competition format often results in games like this.

The home supporters inside the Santiago Bernabeu believe that Rakitic should have been booked for a bad tackle on Casemiro, but the referee is intent on keeping his cards in his pocket.

First Messi run with the ball! The Barcelona number 10 drives into the final third, he passes out to Dembele who crosses for Suarez at the back post. He was trying to square for Roberto, but the clearance is made.

Vinicius gets around Semedo for the first time, beating the Portuguese full back to the byline. Vinicius gets the low cross into the box, but Barcelona have bodies back to clear the danger.

Bit naughty! First, Casemiro crunches Roberto. And then Roberto fouls Kroos. There will certainly be more of that before the night is out, such is the nature of this famous fixture.

For the first time in the match, Barcelona are attempting to take a grip of the possession. They are knocking balls around the middle of the pitch. Real Madrid look quite content, though.

Vinicius is felled by Semedo. That will be a key battle this evening. The emergence of Vinicius has been crucial as Real Madrid have got back to winning ways in recent weeks.

It's the biggest match in world football and there is plenty on the line this evening, with Real Madrid and Barcelona aiming for a place in the 2018/19 Copa del Rey final. Let's go.
