Most of Real Madrid's attacking play is coming through Vinicius down the left side. The Brazilian is the one who looks the most likely to make something happen for Los Blancos.

It’s even stranger that Zidane didn’t fancy Jovic much when you consider how reliant Real Madrid are on Benzema. When he’s missing, either through injury or suspension, they miss him.

Last week saw Jovic leave Real Madrid for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan. The Serbian striker then scored twice in his first game back in the Bundesliga. It’s strange Zidane didn’t give him more of a chance.

Real Madrid have been in good form of late, but the Spanish Supercopa defeat to Athletic Club must serve as a wake up call. They have been looking increasingly tired in recent matches.

This surely would have been a game that Odegaard would have played in, but he has been left out of the squad after asking for a loan move. Arsenal are believed to be interested!

The Odegaard situation is a strange one because it was reportedly Zidane who asked for his two-year loan deal at Real Sociedad to be cut short. Now, Zidane doesn’t see a role for him in his team.

This week, there are reports that Odegaard has asked Zidane to leave Real Madrid on loan for the rest of the season with the Norwegina midfielder currently struggling for regular game time.

Vinicius has a chance to dribble into the opposition box, but there were simply too many defenders around him. He wins the corner kick, but that comes to nothing as Casemiro flicks wide.

Valverde is denied! The Real Madrid midfielder takes aim from 20 yards out, that was heading for the bottom corner of the Alcoyano net, but Juan makes the solid diving save.

The Copa del Rey has been revitalised in recent seasons. They got rid of the two-legged early rounds and that means there has been more upsets. Atletico Madrid have already been knocked out!
