SILVER LININGS
Benrahma couldn't latch onto a through ball from Lacazette but things are still going better for Lyon than the last time these sides met and PSG were 2-0 up after just six minutes.

LYON BREATHE
For maybe the first time tonight. They've still not got the ball, but at least for once PSG aren't sending the ball into the Lyon box at high speed, instead opting to build in possession.

PERRI AT THE DOUBLE
PSG are all over this final so far. Hakimi played in Zaire-Emery but he slips as the ball arrives and his shot is close enough to Perri for another smart reaction save.

WHAT A SAVE!
Wow, this game is already delivering. Lyon force an acrobatic dive from Donnarumma at one end but Barcola goes even closer at the other, after breaking through on goal in a neat exchange with Fabian Ruiz, Lucas Perri made himself big enough to deny the livewire.

MBAPPE CLOSE - TWICE!
Lyon left acres of space for Mbappe on the left flank and it took the quick reactions of Jake O'Brien to block his shot and kill the danger... Until Mbappe nearly taps in a cross-box header from the resulting corner!

KICK-OFF
We are go go go! PSG will launch the first attack...

MOMENTS AWAY...
We've had the stirring rendition of La Marseillaise (Marseille were knocked out by Rennes in the Round of 32 if you were wondering) and the pyrotechnics.
But before kick-off there's a moment's silence for Jordan Denneulin, who was tragically killed earlier this week when he was struck by lightning on a football pitch.

T-5 MINUTES
School's almost out, but there's one more assignment to complete first! It's a red-hot atmosphere in Lille as the players emerge out of the tunnel, this should be a cracker with everything on the line for both clubs!

PSG TEAM NEWS
Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaire-Emery and Vitinha played pivotal roles in helping PSG tear Lyon apart in April, and they're back tonight but supported by an upgraded cast as Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele join Barcola in the front three.
Marquinhos because PSG's most-capped player in that game and he's again at the heart of the defence in Lille, but the departing Keylor Navas hasn't even been named on the bench tonight.
Starting XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Beraldo, Mendes, Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, Dembele, Mbappe, Barcola.

LYON TEAM NEWS
The big call for Pierre Sage was who guards the onion bag, with Anthony Lopes preferred early in the competition (and against PSG last time out) but Lucas Perri started the last three - including a penalty shootout win.
It's the latter who's trusted today, while Lacazette's yellow card for a shirtless celebration after netting the crucial winner last week earned him a suspension, but he'll serve it at the start of the next Ligue 1 season instead of tonight.
Starting XI (4-3-3): Perri, Mata, O’Brien, Caleta-Car, Tagliafico, Caqueret, Matic, Tolisso, Cherki, Lacazette, Benrahma.

ALL CHANGE FOR PSG
Luis Enrique's retained just two players from the team that beat Metz 2-0 on the final day of the season, while Lyon have opted for a different approach. Alexandre Lacazette's 96th-minute penalty secured the win against Strasbourg and European football next season, their only change from that starting XI is between the sticks.

LAST TIME OUT
Lyon came to play when these teams last faced off, but left themselves horribly exposed and PSG took full advantage in April.

LOVELY DAY FOR IT...
So it all comes down to this. 288 days after Nice and Lille kicked off the 2023/24 French football season with a 1-1 draw on the south coast, the campaign will finish at the home of Nice's northern opponents that day.
Lille's 50,000 capacity Stade Pierre-Mauroy is the setting for today, and it's conjured up a beautiful evening for two titans of the French game to battle it out. 23 points separated these teams in Ligue 1, but the Manchester derby earlier showed how little that can mean in a cup final, so the stage is well and truly set!

LYON SWITCH THINGS UP
Unsurprisingly Lyon have opted for a different approach to that night at the Parc des Princes...

PSG REVERT TO WINNING FORMULA
More on this later, but PSG thumped Lyon 4-1 a month ago, and Luis Enrique has opted for a very similar lineup tonight:

HELLO AND WELCOME
What a sporting weekend it’s been. Bayer Leverkusen kicked things off on Wednesday in the Europa League final and they’re attempting to complete a German double as you read this, while Manchester United and Toulouse rugby have lifted major silverware in London just in the last few hours.
But over in France, the winner of arguably the best domestic cup competition in the world is still to be decided as Lyon host PSG in the final. They already have 19 triumphs between them and it’s Kylian Mbappe’s last game for Les Parisiens before he heads to Spain, so there’s plenty on the line when it kicks off in 45 minutes!
