Hansa Rostock are likely to be slapped with a hefty fine by the German football association (DFB) for racist chanting directed by a section of their fans towards Schalke forward Gerald Asamoah during the two sides' encounter in the German cup on Saturday.

The Ghanaian born Germany international played a part in seven goals in the 9-1 victory for his side at Hansa's Ostseestadion, though was subjected to monkey noises throughout the match.
Coach Mirko Slomka offered to Asamoah to be substituted at half-time, but the 27 year-old refused, insisting: “I want to continue playing and show them all.”
Referee Matthias Anklam included the incident in a special report to the DFB, who have asked the player for his comments on the incident.
The episode comes just a day after a new anti-racism paragraph was written into the DFB's rules and regulations, fulfilling a FIFA directive, and less than a month before Germany face Georgia at the same venue.
