The final whistle blows, and Germany are three to the quarter-finals with a 100 per cent record! Denmark, for all the excitment they have provided, are going home.

Three minutes of added time are signalled by the fourth official.

Remember, Germany reached this competition by winning all 10 of their qualifying matches. The last competitive match they didn't win was the semi-final of the 2010 World Cup.

Just to erase any doubt, Germany are going through with nine points out of nine, with Portugal next on six points. Denamrk have three, and The Dutch are on a big fat zero.

Germany substitution: Toni Kroos replaces Mueller.

Denmark have plenty of men forward for a corner, which Agger attacks well but can only head over.

Denmark substitution: Tobias Mikkelsen replaces Jakob Poulsen.

GOAL!! Denmark 1-2 Germany!! Ozil's through ball is too far in front of Klose but it's perfect for Bender to sidefoot past Andersen and surely send Gemrany into the quarter-finals and Denamrk packing!

Denmark substitution: Christian Poulsen repalces Zimling.

Clever dinked ball from Ozil for Khedira's run into the box, but he loses the race to the ball.

Mueller drives the ball into the box, and Agger blasts it clear.

Bendtner stretches every sinew in his body to get his toe to a floated ball up the field, but he can't guide it high enough over Neuer's head.

That may seem pretty cut and dried now, but one goal here would change it all again. One goal for Denmark now and Germany are going out!

There has been a goal in Kharkiv! Ronaldo scores again to give Portugal the lead! As it stands they go through as outright second, two points ahead of Denamrk and one behind Germany.

Germany substitution: Miroslav Klose replaces Gomez.

A dozen or more passes strung together around the edge of the Denmark box, but again they are unable to get in behind that red wall.

The corner is played short to Jakob Poulsen, who in turn plays it to Christian Eriksen. The eventual floated cross from a diagonal angle sails harmlessly over everyone. Eriksen has really been disappointing for much of this tournament.

Denmark make their first significant foray forward for a while, and Zimling's tepid shot from range forces a corner.

Germany have had 59% of the possession in this match so far. The last five minutes have made it feel like a lot more. Denmark know they most likely need to score. They will have to come out at some stage.
