Portugal’s only change is Hugo Almeida coming into the starting XI in place of the injured Helder Postiga. One man has been soaking up all the attention so far though, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who may just be one of the only men capable of toppling Spain.

If it's a big surprise that Spain are finally starting with a striker, it's a bigger one that Alvaro Negredo is the man up front ahead of Fernando Torres or Fernando Llorente. We can only assume that the consistently overlooked Llorente must have run over Vicente del Bosque's dog in the run-up to the tournament.
