Spain had not defeated Italy in a competitive match in 74 years until they edged the Azzurri on penalties in the UEFA EURO 2008 quarter-finals. But their recent record in the knockout stages is pretty impressive...
16:15
The Spanish are unbeaten in five matches with Italy, winning two and drawing three, since a 2-1 friendly defeat in Bari in August 2011.
16:10
This will be the 35th encounter between Italy and Spain. Each side have 10 wins each, with 14 draws, although perhaps surprisingly Italy have outscored Spain, by 40 goals to 36..
16:05
The only change from the win over Sweden is the introduction of Mattia De Sciglio for the hamstrung Antonio Candreva. Alessandro Florenzi, who started in the centre of midfield against the Irish, will move to the wide right position of a five-man midfield in a 3-5-2 formation. Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci are the only players to have started all four of Italy's games in Euro 2016.

Italy coach Antonio Conte, who played his fringe players in the final Group E match against the Republic of Ireland after securing top spot in the group with a 1-0 victory over Sweden in the second group match in Toulouse, reverts to his more tried-and-tested starting line-up.
15:55
As we await the Italy starting eleven, a reminder that the winner of this match in Saint-Denis faces Germany in the quarter-finals in Bordeaux next Saturday.
15:50
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has selected the same side that lost 2-1 to Croatia in the final Group D match in Bordeaux on Thursday, La Roja's first defeat in 15 European Championship matches going back to 2004. It means the veteran Spain boss has selected the same starting eleven for all four matches at Euro 2016.
