Quick build-up from Germany down the left and a cutback from Bellarabi, but Kroos mishits his shot 12 yards wide.

McClean is unable to chase down a long ball down the left and Boateng shepherds the ball out for a goal kick.

An attempt at triangles down the centre, but Bellarabi is unable to get past McClean down the right and the Wigan player is then fouled.

Germany are in in fourth place in Group D with three points after two games following their first European Championship qualifier defeat since 2007 at the weekend. Ireland are in second place behind leaders Poland with six points from their two matches.

Ireland manager Martin O'Neill on his starting eleven, talking to Irish broadcaster RTE: "I see Jon Walters starting on the right, with Aiden McGeady given a free role. We will see how it goes - if Aiden is unable to get into the game, as sometimes happen away from home, we might revert roles."

Germany are on a 17-game unbeaten run in competitive matches at home and beat Ireland twice in the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, 6-1 in Dublin and 3-0 at home.
