GOAL! A poor goalkeeping clearance allows Ireland to grab that early breakthrough. Hoolahan plays a sublime ball in-behind the defence for McGeady who unselfishly puts it on a plate for Keane to gobble it up from close range.

Aiden McGeady skips to the left byline and hangs it up for Hoolahan at the far post but his header is woefully wide. A great chance to get an early opener goes begging.

KICK OFF! ROI gets us underway.

Republic of Ireland are looking to win three successive international matches for the first time since November 2011 in what is Martin O'Neill's first competitive home game in charge. The teams are out and we are just moments from kick off.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT GIBRALTAR? Their FA was formed in 1895 but they were not accepted into the UEFA family until May 2013 when they became the 54th member. This is only their seventh match since but they have managed to secure two draws and a 1-0 victory over Malta. Kyle Casciaro scored the winner.

O'Neill makes five changes from the team that beat Georgia with Hendrick, McClean, Meyler, Gibson and Hoolahan all coming in. Meanwhile, Bula has just four players that play outside Gibraltar to call upon, with only two of those at Football League clubs in England. Preston North End's Scott Wiseman and Bristol Rovers midfielder Jake Gosling both start while Bala Town’s David Artell and Farsley forward Adam Priestley are on the bench.

Meanwhile, Gibraltar coach, Allen Bula appreciates his charges will be heavy underdogs but is relishing the opportunity to compete in front of a world-renowned crowd. He said: "It is going to be a tough test again for my players, especially on a stadium that looks to be packed, but it's about keeping talking to them, making them believe in themselves."

Assistant boss, Roy Keane's beard has caused a bit of a stir recently but sadly it is no more. It now joins a long list of fantastic football fuzz - and we relive some of the game's hairier antics in this must view/read wander down memory lane.

Republic of Ireland boss, Martin O'Neill insists his team will not take Gibraltar lightly and is determined to ensure they do not try to focus one eye on Tuesday's clash with world champions Germany. He said: "I was speaking to the Polish representatives and they were saying how difficult the game against Gibraltar was, breaking them down, scoring the goal in the first half - they were obviously relieved about it... The Germany game, obviously, causes its own concerns - that comes afterwards. It's a tough game for us and one that I really cannot concern myself about until we have played Gibraltar."

The Green Army will be hoping for a goal-fest.

The Republic got off to a solid start in their Group D opener with a 2-1 win in Georgia, but it was a tale of woe for Gibraltar whose first qualifying campaign in international football began with a 7-0 humbling in Poland.

Official teamsheet with formations. ROI will deploy a 4-4-2 with Robbie Keane and Wes Hoolahan leading their attack. Gibraltar opt for a more cautious 4-1-4-1.
