Ireland launch once last attack but it proves in vain as referee Mazic blows his whistle. A huge roar erupts around Celtic Park, Scotland needed that win and their fans knew it. Gordon Strachan's men join their visitors on seven points, as O'Neill's side miss the chance to close the gap on Group D leaders Poland.

Ireland have a free kick, and some hope. Brady steps up to deliver from 35 yards and his delivery flicks off of Hanley and smacks against the bar McGeady delivers the resulting corner but Scotland stand firm.

The temperature raises again as Quinn is booked for an ugly challenge on Mulgrew. And it seems there is going to be four minutes of stoppage time, can Ireland find another late goal here?

Mulgrew does brilliantly to win a free kick and take the pressure off Scotland. Naismith spurns the chance to put it into the box as Scotland look to play out time. Ireland clear though.

Anya squanders a Scotland breakaway as Brady's corner is easily cleared. Maloney wins the ball back but is hurt in doing so and the game is stopped.

GOAL!! MALONEY STEPS UP FOR SCOTLAND!! Mulgrew whips in a stunning free kick from the right that flicks off Walters and crashes against the bar. From the resulting corner, Maloney plays a delightful give and go with Brown calmly curling the ball into the far corner.

Brady is straight into the action, winning a corner for Ireland. Quinn swings it in but the ball goes behind off Walters. The Stoke man is leading the line now for the visitors.
