That was an absolute outclassing, no two ways about it. Ireland can redeem themselves - if they beat Denmark in their final game they're through. But achieving that is hard enough as is, never mind without Coleman and Duffy. The last time the teams met when playing for qualification, Denmark won 5-1 in Dublin. That is certainly possible again. Night!

GOAL! Switzerland 2-0 Ireland (Duffy own-goal) Ireland can't cope a man down and Steffen sildes a pass to Fernandes on the right of the box, who plants a sidefooter past Randolph, which Duffy, sliding in from the other side, diverts into the opposite corner.

Nice from Fernandes, who's done well since coming on, nashing down the right and cutting back; it's on for Steffen, but Seferovic takes it off him and shoots into Duffy.

There'll be three added minutes.
90'
I should add, nothing comes of it.

Ireland get a corner, but Hendrick swings it out! What is he thinking! Put the keeper under pressure, man!

Steffen replaces Embolo, who's been very good.

On the touchline, McCarthy shouts loudly in Anglo-Saxon. Obviously the Sky commentators apologise, which is funny because Rupert Murdoch owns Fox and the Sun.
86'
Token effort from Ireland, Browne finding O'DOwda who finds McClean, and he curls into the box where there's no one to attack the ball.
84'
Elsewhere in this group, Gibraltar have equalised in Georgia, which tells you how horrendous Ireland were in losing in Tblisi.
82'
Are Ireland going to go for this? Surely they need to send on another attacker and see what happens?
80'
Eddie Nketiah has scored a hat-trick for England under-21s. He's got the knack.
79'
None of this can obscure the fact that this has been a terrible night for Ireland. They've not turned up, they're losing, and unless they can find an improbable equaliser, will have to beat Denmark to qualify, without Coleman and Duffy. Good luck, lads.

Up steps Rodriguez, he's been striking the ball so nicely tonight. But he stutters, telegraphs, AND RANDOLPH TURNS HIS KICK ONTO THE POST, THEN BROWNE SCOOPS THE REBOUND OUT OF DANGER! IRELAND ARE STILL IN THE GAME! JUST!

Ireland haven't made a proper chance, and here come Switzerland again, Xhaka cutting the ball back into the box, Embolo shooting after a scramble ... AND THE REF POINTS TO THE SPOT, THEN COLEMAN IS SHOWN A SECOND YELLOW CARD! HE MUST'VE BLOCKED WITH A HAND!
75'
But here they come again, Zakaria crossing low from the right, asnd it takes a fine slide from O'Dowda to keep the ball away from Seferovic.
72'
Switzerland can see the finish line. When they get possession now, they're taking easy options.

Change for Switzerland Freuler replacing Lichsteiner. I can confirm that Xhaka now has the armband.

Change for Ireland, HOgan replacing Connolly. He's had a disappointing night, but it's tough out there.
