IMPRESSIVE START
Northern Ireland have been really good in the opening stages, looking the more dangerous of the two teams and playing some really tidy football.

OFF THE POST!
So close to an opener for Northern Ireland. A quick ball forward catches Denmark cold and Charles makes a terrific connection with his shot, beating Schmeichel but seeing the ball cannon back off the upright.

INJURIES IMPACT SELECTION
The number of absentees has forced O’Neill into something experimental. He’s opted for what appears to be a 3-5-2, and the average age of the squad is just a little over 24, so it’s fair to say that the coach is using the situation to take a look to the future.

ROTATED LINE-UP
Denmark have really mixed things up this evening, so some of the more familiar Premier League names are sitting this one out. Vestergaard and Hojbjerg are among those on a strong bench, while of course the Man Utd duo of Eriksen and Hojlund are unavailable due to injuries.

STRONG START FROM THE HOSTS
Northern Ireland hit their straps early on, trying to take advantage of a bit of a rotated line-up from the visitors. The atmosphere’s pretty decent too, which is some going given the context of the game.

AWAY WE GO
Northern Ireland, wearing all green, get the game underway against a Denmark side in their white away strip.

APPROACHING KICK-OFF
The stage is set and we’re minutes away from kick-off. Can Northern Ireland finish their campaign with a statement performance?

NORTHERN IRELAND LOOK FOR A REACTION
Finland put in a bit of a show in Northern Ireland’s first game of the international window, running out 4-0 winners to really underline the need of a reboot going forward. Whether that reboot starts tonight remains to be seen.
19:30
THE LAST MEETING
It was a bit of a heartbreaker for Northern Ireland last time these teams met back in June. Denmark ran out 1-0 winners, but the spoils were very nearly shared, only for a last-gasp equaliser from Callum Marshall to be overturned after a VAR review. That sort of disappointment kind of encapsulates the campaign as a whole.
19:25
STATE OF PLAY IN GROUP H
Northern Ireland will not qualify from this group and Denmark will almost certainly finish top, so on that front there’s not a huge amount riding on tonight’s result. The drama further down is whether Kazakhastan, Slovenia or Finland will join the Danes in making it through.

THE MANAGER SPEAKS
Here’s what the home coach Michael O'Neill had to say ahead of today’s game:
"Obviously we want to finish on a high if we can," O'Neill said.
It is a difficult game against a top nation who have already secured their place in next summer's finals.
"It is imperative on us as a group of players and staff to try and finish on a positive. That is certainly going to be the aim in terms of consistency of performance and hopefully a good result."
