Stoke have jetted out to Switzerland to continue their Europa League journey against FC Thun, with Matthew Upson expected to be handed his debut following a summer move from West Ham.

The final whistle goes with a chorus of cheers from Stoke's ardent travelling fans. 1-0 the final score and a well deserved, scrappy win for the Potters.

Walters is booked for impeding a Thun freekick but the Swiss team have run out of time and ideas.

Walters with a wonderful chance to add to Stoke's tally but fails to capitalise on a one on one chance. Andrist surprises himself in saving his side's blushes.

Da Costa has a rush of blood to the head. On the halfway line Thun's keeper tried to take on Walters but fails miserably and takes down the striker trying to make amends. Clearly a red card and having used all three subs, Andrist steps between the post for the final few minutes.

Stoke earn a corner whilst winding down the clock and an offside throws away a few more seconds.

A couple of corners for Thun and a huge goal mouth scramble ensues. Tempers flaring up again as the home side believe Walters handled but Stoke still dominant.

FC Thun's manager Bernard Challandes is understandably livid on the touch line, yelling at anyone in sight. His side have been poor to say the least.
